I'm Cole Prophet, MS, Licensed Professional Counselor intern. I am a Portland State University alum with specialization in Marital, Couples, and Family Counseling. My intersectional identity includes being Black and non-binary. Sex positivity is one of my values, so I work comfortably with sex workers, am those into kink or BDSM, and ethically non-monogamous relationships.

I don't believe that there is a one-size-fits-all approach to counseling. My counseling style draws from interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems, and mindfulness. Regardless of which modality I may use in session, my unifying technique is  getting to know clients with non-judgmental and open curiosity. I reflect back the strengths I see and  I encourage clients to be the owners of their own healing journey. I believe that you know where you want to go, but are uncertain of how to get there. I just hold the compass.
